crime and disorder.

Community Involvement
The department is committed to community partnerships that can identify and abolish barriers to community wellness.

What should I do if I need to talk with a Police Officer?
If it is an emergency, then dial 911, otherwise contact the department on one of our other lines and you can talk with an
officer on the phone or ask that one be sent to your location.

When I dialed 911 the dispatcher asked a lot of questions about my address. I thought the enhanced 911 system has my location?
You are correct, the Enhanced 911 system does have addresses and shows them on the screen when 911 is dialed. The problem
is that sometimes the addresses are not updated when persons move in or out. When you call 911, the dispatcher will ask
what your emergency is, verify your address and send the appropriate response agency so that your situation is handled

I need to find out about my address. Who do I call?
You need to contact the 911 office on West Watson Street. Their phone number is 427-4911.

I have a civil problem (i.e. landlord - tenant problems, vehicle re-possession, property questions) who should I call?
If you only have a question regarding these or like problems and there is no dispute / confrontation you would need to
contact an attorney for the best answer. If you need the police to settle or prevent a problem call 222-1155. If it is an
emergency dial 911.

What should I do about something suspicious in my neighborhood?
You should notify the police department and ask that an officer be sent to check it out. The person etc. may be completely
innocent of any wrong doing, but, the person could also be waiting to break into your neighbors home. The most effective
crime control measure is the community and the police working together. There are not enough officers for them to be every-
where all the time, but with help form the community, the police can be much more effective.

If I have questions who do I contact?
You may contact the Andalusia Police Department at 222-1155 for any general police related question and you will be put
in contact with someone who can give you an answer.
